On the 7th November, I attended the Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) conference at the University of Oxford.
“A multi-disciplinary research conference on the effects of meat and dairy consumption on population health, the economy, the society and the environment” –The Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Food
What started off as an email exchange with the leading researcher of an influential study on food's environmental impact, Joseph Poore, led to a day as a citizen journalist at the LEAP conference. I attended interesting talks and interviewed several speakers throughout the day about multiple aspects related to animal agriculture.
I am thankful to Dr Kelly Reed and Lucy Yates for providing me with this amazing opportunity as well as to all the interviewees for taking the time to discuss some of the most pressing issues related to food consumption and production.
Who did I talk to and what did I learn? Stay tuned for more…
